As we become immersed in the holiday season, our hearts are filled with memories of our loved ones no longer on this earth, but still with us in spirit and in love.  This might be family members, friends or our pets. We also remember those who are no longer in our lives because of distance and other changes in life circumstances.

Whatever the circumstances you may be experiencing grief residing in your heart – a deep sense of loss.

We may have lost the experience of graduations, weddings, and celebrations of the life of a loved one who has passed.

We may feel the emptiness of cancelled vacation plans, missed parties and family reunions, the loss of anticipation of a special trip or simply dropping in on neighbours.

This will be a quiet, introspective time to prepare us to incorporate our grief and sadness with the season’s joy.

Joy and Sadness are not an either/or proposition.  It is about being present with all of our emotions.
