You use it to describe everything from your closest relationships to a favorite song or meal. Often\, what you’re really naming is enjoyment or preference. With so many meanings attached\, it becomes difficult to recognize love as the powerful force it’s meant to be. \nAnthropologist Ashley Montagu offers a helpful lens\, suggesting that love is best understood as interdependence. From this view\, love isn’t just an emotion—it’s a fundamental principle of life itself. Nothing exists in isolation. Atoms rely on other atoms\, cells depend on cells\, and organs function through cooperation and exchange. \nAt every level of existence\, there is a rhythm of giving and receiving. Love is not one-sided or possessive; it’s relational and mutual. It’s the dynamic harmony that arises when parts are connected\, supporting one another within a living\, unified whole. \nSummarized from–Ernest Holmes\, A New Design for Living Chapter 15 \nSpiritual Point of View \nErnest Holmes writes in A New Design for Living: \n“Love implies a givingness\, a sharing\, a communion of spirit…” \nYour destiny unfolds as you learn to embrace all of life. Spirit is always expressing Itself\, and one of the clearest places you recognize that expression is through love\, generosity\, and gratitude. When you practice gratitude as empathy\, you become a conscious conduit for the Divine. Gratitude moves you out of judgment and into awareness\, allowing parts of yourself that were once hidden or unaccepted to be seen\, integrated\, and loved. \nFrom this place\, every relationship becomes an opportunity to reveal spiritual truth and affirm the Unity you share with all beings. Rather than resisting difference or discomfort\, you begin to see them as unique expressions of Spirit inviting your growth. \nWhen you change how you look at things\, what you look at changes. Those who challenge or irritate you are not obstacles; they are teachers\, helping awaken deeper compassion. Gratitude is the frequency that aligns you with Divine love. When you choose it\, you shift from fear to curiosity and begin asking\, “What is this teaching me about who I am becoming?” Empathy\, then\, becomes one of your most powerful spiritual practices. \nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n Like this:Like Loading… URL:https://unityspiritualcentre.com/event/love-isnt-just-an-emotion/ CATEGORIES:Sunday Service ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://unityspiritualcentre.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Nov-week-2.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Toronto:20261122T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/Toronto:20261122T120000 DTSTAMP:20260904T195137Z CREATED:20260904T195137Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260904T195137Z UID:10002904-1795341600-1795348800@unityspiritualcentre.com SUMMARY:Artist Lounge DESCRIPTION:Artist Lounge at Unity\nOct- Dec 2026\nAnne Margit Ahokangas\n  \nApplications are available through admin@unityspiritualcentre.com \nWhere Creativity\, Community\, and Spirit Meet \nThe Artist Lounge at Unity Spiritual Centre is a welcoming gathering space for artists\, creatives\, makers\, writers\, musicians\, and anyone who feels called to express themselves through creativity. \nWhether you are a professional artist\, a passionate hobbyist\, or simply curious about exploring your creative side\, you are invited to join us in a supportive\, inclusive\, and inspiring environment. \nTogether we share ideas\, encouragement\, creative challenges\, resources\, and conversation.
